The third country I am going to talk about is Germany.๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€

The first legend I want to tell is a well-known one around the world. And I'm sure you've read it sometime.

This is a very famous Brothers Grimm tale that could actually be based on a real legend from Germany.

The inhabitants of Hamelin

In Lower Saxony, were dying from the plague that was spreading through Europe, through rats. Desperate, they hired a flute player who could take them away from the city with music, hoping that with that they could get rid of the disease.

It worked. The city was saved from the plague, but the people, who were greedy and ungrateful, refused to pay him. In revenge, the flute player played his instrument to attract all the children of the city. He then made them enter the sea and watched as they drowned to death.

Morbach's werewolf

The first myth that I am going to narrate from Germany, is based on a real event and those who affirm that they have come to see this being....

According to legend, Morbach is the last place where a werewolf was killed, around 1988. A single candle burns in the village as a reminder, but also as a warning. One night the candle was blown out and a wolf figure was seen standing on a US air base He got up, looking at the soldiers before heading back to the forest.

The candle was re-lit and has never gone out since. According to the townspeople, if the candle goes out, the werewolf will return. Yikes!

I am also going to add one more section, another legend that left me many doubts as to whether I really want to visit Germany, or at least near this area

The attic killer

Legend has it that there was a family that unknowingly lived with an intruder who had been hiding in their attic for months. Things disappeared or moved, and they even found mysterious objects in the trash. They even started joking about having a ghost. Until one night, all the members are killed in their sleep by the phenomenon that inhabits their walls.

The reason this story is so scary is because it is based on a true story.

The real crime occurred in March 1922, on a German farm named Hinterkaifeck. Andreas Gruber, the owner, began to notice that little things were missing or not in their place. His family swore that he could hear the sounds of footsteps and Andreas himself came to find mysterious footprints, but not anyone.

At the end of the month, the source of those footsteps descended from the attic and brutally murdered Andreas, his wife Cรคzilia, their daughter Viktoria Gabriel, their young children, just 2 and 7 years old, and their housekeeper, Maria. Baumgartner. All were attacked with a pickaxe. Their bodies were not discovered until four days later.

At the same time, it was found that someone had been looking after the farm animals. The identity of the murderer was never discovered.
