In the land of Cornwall ancient legends of giants are still alive in many of its towns and urban centers. Perhaps it is due to its spectacular geography, full of mountains and reefs. Or maybe because of its steep cliffs and natural landscapes that seem to be created by people of enormous size. The only certainty is that on St Michael, the beautiful island off the coast of Cornwall, a peculiar legend continues to be heard today, that of Jack and the giant Cormoran.
Apparently, for a time, the people of Cornwall were completely terrified of Cormoran, the giant who lived on the Mount of St. Michael. This being stole livestock and stayed in a large castle on the island, which he could terrorize the habitants of the nearest town. On the other hand, there was Jack, the son of a farmer who lived in Lands End during the reign of King Arthur. He was a small but very cunning young man. Upon learning of the evil that the giant was doing to the region, he decided to act.
The young man dug a hole very close to Morvah and covered it completely with brush. After this, he began to call out to the giant with a powerful horn, a noise that greatly annoyed this great being. The giant ran down the mountain, very angry and in such a hurry that he did not look where he stepped. Without realizing it he fell into the trap. At that moment, when Cormoran was inside the hole and was trapped there, Jack struck him to death with his spear and filled the hole with earth.
People came out of their houses shouting the name of the young man, who from that moment on, thanks to his brave feat, wore a sword given by the people in which a very clear legend was read "Who killed the Giant Cormoran." In addition to this gift, he received abundant livestock and many goods. However, it seemed that the thirst for giant blood did not cease in Jack, because after a time he decided to start traveling to continue killing giants and thus increasing his fame.
Near the church of Morvah rests a stone that is said to mark the giant's tomb. Many say that Jack did not finish finishing Cormoran and that by placing his ear on the stone, the giant's heart can still beat underground.

England is also famous for its dark legends about dark places, haunted mansions, and forbidden cemeteries. Today we want to talk about one of these places, and not just any one, because the truth is that Pluckley is considered the most enchanted English town of all; and it is that this small British village in the Assford district of Kent, would have as non-registered citizens up to 12 ghosts. Although they say that in good times there were up to 36.
One of the most famous ghosts of the town appears in the main, and almost unique, element of cultural interest in the town, the one known as Saint Nicholas Church. This beautiful construction of more than 900 years, in a Gothic style of great beauty, would be built on an even older church, although there is too much of it.
In addition, the place would have an element that would make it gloomy, a cemetery in the back filled with a sea of nameless tombstones. Adorned only by the undergrowth, which on many occasions covers a large part of the stones.
It is in this church where, acording to testimonies, the one known as Red Lady appears. This specter would be that of the young Lady Derring. A strange woman who would be buried in seven lead coffins, one inside the other. Nobody is clear about the reason for this funeral ritual, but many say that it was so that the spirit of the woman did not come out of her grave.
The truth is that whatever the reason, the woman roams freely within the church and the cemetery; And it is that according to legend, she would have an illegitimate child who would kill as soon as he was born. Thus, it seems that the spirit of the unfortunate wandering lady wanders the world of the living desperately searching for her son.
Although Mrs. Derring is the most famous of Pluckley's ghosts, she is by no means the only one. Well, the town is proud to have a rider with horses, a charred ghost, a monk in love, a screaming ghost or the ghost of a forest among many others.
In the 80s, this town received real shipments of curious people, parapsychological researchers and other fans of these paranormal worlds. Nowadays, the place is quiet, however, curious people continue to appear from time to time in order to find some of these ghosts on the streets of Pluckley.

Long, long ago, deep within the caves of Wookey Hole, lived the wicked witch of Wookey Hole. After a time of misfortune the people of Wookey implored the Abbot of Glastonbury to send someone to protect them from the fearsome sorceress. The abbot sent Father Bernard, who was a Benedictine monk and an expert exorcist.
Bernard went to see the witch, whom he found stirring a cauldron. When he got ready to talk to her the witch ran into the cave cursing. The father did not hesitate to go after her, passing through a narrow passage, known as the Stairway of Hell.
When he finally was face to face with the old woman, her father took water from a small underground stream, blessed it and threw it against her wife, who immediately turned into stone. Today you can still see the petrified figure inside what they say was the witch who inhabited these caves centuries ago.
Here there are some of the bones of the squeleton of the whitch....
