This is one of the most common legends in El Salvador, who does not jokingly say "the Siguana is going to take you" in short, so many legends, La Siguana is the mother of El Cipitio, which is the first legend on this page. The Siguana still appears in the streams and streams washing at midnight.

It happens once to a man, who had agreed with his girlfriend to escape at night. Said and done around 11:30 p.m. The young man was with his horse waiting for his beloved, suddenly he saw the figure of a woman who was approaching him, of happiness he did not even notice he only helped him to ride with him, they took the road, but to all this nobody was he had crossed such a single word.

What began to disturb the young man the most was that he had not brought his clothes with him, after a long time she began to caress his chest, the poor man didn't find what to do when he felt her large breasts on his back, at last the young man decided and He began to caress his entire body, although he could not see his face, he felt happy, as he entered the thick forest, large nails emerged from those soft hands that dug into the young man's skin, and he scratched the horse, which He prevented him from stopping, when trying to see his face he saw a disheveled and disheveled woman who was laughing out loud.

He did not remember anything else about the advice of his grandfather and he bit the reins of the horse to take courage and said:

-You are so sexy Maria, give me a kiss Maria, give me your whole body that here is your chicken leg Maria.

He said this and that woman jumped off the horse and came out scared by the bushes, from which the young man was saved, since they say that Siguanaba is bothered by being called Maria 3 times

The Siguanaba is a legend that almost all Salvadoreรฑos know and some anecdotes are known, so when you go out at night and alone, worse if there are streams, rivers or streams, be careful not to be seduced by this being.

What made his hair more frizzy was when the chickens started with their characteristic scream of fear, the dogs came out scaredscared, that instilled more fear, he knew that the cart was not good, so he crossed himself and half jumped a fence and he took refuge behind some pine trees when he felt that the cart was almost in front, he prayed.

At that moment a bulge was appearing, which when he looked more closely he could see the figure of a cracked wagon that was moving slowly, it also had no oxen, and on the tip of its ratchets it carried skulls, inside it they already made bodies of people , which he did not recognize, and beings with grass heads were advancing after her, he passed in front of him and walked away, Majin does not remember how he got home, only that he spent 3 days with a fever, since that day he no longer knows lets grab more of the night and worse if it's Friday.

The strange thing is that they never found it, but the cart always travels the streets of lonely towns and cities in search of bad souls.

The cuyancรบa or Cuyancuat, is a Salvador's legend narrated mainly in the municipality of Izalco, in the department of Sonsonate. According to oral tradition, it is a mythical being of great size and strange appearance, the lower half of its body is shaped like a snake and the upper half is shaped like a pig. This being announces the arrival of the rain and according to the testimonies, not only does a cuyancรบa appear but sometimes they do it in a group.

According to the book Myths and legends of the Pipiles de Izalco, by L. Shultze Jena, it is also a mythological being that has some dominion over the waters of the rivers and the rain.

Legend has it that at nightfall, north of Izalco, a kind of scary squawk or screech was heard, followed by strong turbulence under the ground, this phenomenon was attributed to the Cuyancรบa, which aroused panic among the locals , causing them to lock themselves in their homes in the early hours. This sound was heard mainly in the surroundings of the rivers and streams, where the Cuyancรบa crawled looking for food.

People who stayed up late claim to have seen her from the front, they comment that the impact of seeing the Cuyancรบa can cause fainting and loss of speech for some time. It is said that when seeing or listening to the Cuyancรบa it is best to adopt a peaceful attitude, close your eyes and entrust yourself to God.

For those who dare to look for it, it is said that the Cuyancรบa still hides in the surroundings of the Atecozol spa. It crawls along the banks of streams, coils itself in trees, and disappears from human sight for some time. Shortly after he is heard by Nahuilingo, he slides down the rivers and goes to scare the washerwomen of the Rio Grande. She returns and is heard in Caluco or San Ramรณn.

(like this zombie)

On the other hand, the legend also tells that where the Cuyancรบa digs to lie down, springs are formed where clean and fresh water gushes out, which is why in those municipalities there are such beautiful springs.

In the Atecozol Tourist Center, in Sonsonate, we can find a stone image of this mythical being.
